Rita Soronen, the President and CEO of the Ohio-based Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, spoke at the CHAMPS 2018 Kick-off Event on January 31, 2018 in Washington, D.C. She has been at the helm of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption since 2001 and has been a leader in spurring innovation that yields positive results for children and families. Ms. Soronen spoke about the positive outcomes for children served by the Wendys Wonderful Kids program, which is being implemented in selected states around the country. She spoke passionately about the need every child has for a permanent, loving family. The CHAMPS campaign is proud to have the support of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and to be associated with the foundation’s core values:
- Every child deserves a safe, loving and permanent family.
- No child should linger in foster care or leave the system at age 18 without a permanent family of his or her own.
