See this article in the Indianapolis Star about findings from a new report on the state’s child welfare system.  The report found that the number of children in Indiana’s welfare system more than doubled over five years to 16,834 in December 2017. That’s more than double the average rate nationally.

The consulting group hired to conduct the investigation plans to issue another update on March 1 and to complete its work by June 21.
