The Oregon Secretary of State’s audit of the Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Welfare program published on January 31, 2018 highlights the impact of chronic understaffing, high turnover and the need for improvement in management practices. The DHS embraces the recommendations listed in the audit and is actively moving forward in all areas identified in need of improvement. See here for the report.
